Customer Spotlight Feature

Welcome to the PaperOne™ customer feature, where we interview our customers to find out more about them, their company, their thoughts about the industry, and their partnership with APRIL Group.

For this month’s spotlight, we spoke with Mr. Naiyapong Konboonma, Managing Director of Suksawad Converting Center Co., Ltd.

Located an hour’s drive outside of Bangkok, Thailand, Suksawad specialises in security printing for cards, packaging, computer forms, as well as IT system integrations.

PaperOne™: Thank you Mr. Naiyapong for speaking with us. Please tell us about Suksawad Converting Center Co., Ltd and your role in the company.

Mr. Naiyapong: Hello PaperOne™! Glad to be here speaking with you. Suksawad is part of Chan Wanich Group, Thailand’s oldest and leading business process outsource provider and IT security system integrator. The Group has a long history of almost 100 years and I have been with the company for the last 25 years. My role as a Managing Director is to handle the day-to-day operations to provide customised papers for our clients at competitive prices.

PaperOne™: In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge the paper industry is facing at this moment?

Mr. Naiyapong: Digitalisation has definitely changed the game for the paper industry. More and more people are moving online preferring e-books and e-magazines. COVID-19 is also a big factor towards digitalisation as the majority of the world's population are working from home now. The paper industry would have to adapt quickly to this shift to stay relevant.

PaperOne™: That sounds tough. Do you have any plans for Suksawad and your team to navigate through this tricky situation you are facing?

Mr. Naiyapong: We foresee that packaging paper will be in great demand, as consumers choose to do online shopping due to COVID-19. Taking advantage of this situation, our immediate goal is to become a specialised trader for packaging page paper for online purchases. To complement this, we are also planning to start a logistics service and become a one-stop-shop for online shopping and delivery in Thailand.

PaperOne™: That’s fantastic! Besides being able to adapt quickly in situations, what makes Suksawad stand out among its competitors?

Mr. Naiyapong: I think it all comes down to the products Suksawad offers. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we offer products that are PEFC-certified. We did some research and a study by Nielsen showed that 50% of global consumers are willing to pay more for products that are environmentally friendly. We believe that protecting the environment is our responsibility, but most importantly, it is the right thing to do.

PaperOne™: I’m sure this is also a determining factor on which companies to partner with.

Mr. Naiyapong: That is absolutely correct. This is the reason why we have such a solid partnership with the APRIL Group, and they have been our strongest ally for the past 5 years. We have been sourcing PaperOne™ Offset and PaperOne™ Pre-Print+, not only because they are PEFC-certified products but also because of the overall product benefits. We are very impressed with the product’s high-bright white shade and strength, which help to lessen stoppages during production and improve our productivity.

PaperOne™: We’re happy to have Suksawad as our partner! One final question before we go, why do your clients prefer APRIL Group products?

Mr. Naiyapong: Thank you very much for having me, it’s my pleasure indeed. Our clients have gradually shifted their preference toward sustainable products and APRIL Group offers PEFC-certified products which fit their exact needs. The PaperOne™ products we offer also provide vibrant colour and smudge-free prints, stop paper jams, and help them to save ink costs, which in turn help businesses save on production costs.
